Legoland Malaysia is not in Johor Bahru city. It sits in Iskandar Puteri — Medini, on the Second Link side of the border. That one map fact decides the trip: you plan Tuas to Legoland, not a Woodlands stroll to City Square.
If you are searching how to go to Legoland from Singapore, start with the crossing and the park clock. Tickets and swimsuits come after.
The short answer, in five lines
- Cross at Tuas. Iskandar Puteri from Singapore is the Second Link, not the Causeway.
- A day trip works if you buy Theme Park only and leave Singapore early.
- Do not stack theme park + water park + SEA LIFE on a first visit.
- Bus / coach if you can handle two halls with every bag. Stay-in-car if you cannot.
- Buy tickets official before you join the Tuas queue. Hours and prices move — verify on the park site.
A singapore to legoland day trip is workable. A theme park plus a water park plus SEA LIFE in the same eight hours is not, unless the children already know every ride. This page is the family plan: how to get to Legoland Malaysia from Singapore, how long legoland malaysia travel time really runs, which ticket to buy, and what to bring to Legoland Malaysia.
It is not a booking page titled “Private Car Singapore to Legoland.” Route quotes live on Singapore to Legoland and Johor Bahru to Legoland Malaysia. Papers live on the border crossing checklist. Hour-by-hour queues live on best time to cross the SG–JB checkpoint.
Hours, closed days, and ticket prices move. Verify on the official Legoland Malaysia site before you travel.
How to get to Legoland Malaysia from Singapore
Four ways show up. Only one of them keeps a sleeping child in a seat at Tuas.
Causeway Link + CW7L
Light bags, no pram, weekday. The cheap singapore to legoland malaysia path.
Morning coach from Singapore
Two or three adults, one fixed slot. Still a commercial vehicle at both halls.
Self-drive + VEP
Only if the car is already Malaysia-ready — and you still want the wheel after 6 p.m.
Cross-border transfer
Family trip Singapore to Legoland, stroller, odd hours. Stay-in-car in sedan / Innova / Alphard.
Singapore to Legoland Malaysia is a Tuas problem. Woodlands can get you there, but you then crawl across Johor Bahru toward Iskandar Puteri.
Compare all four ways in one table
| Way | Best for | Alight at Tuas / CIQ? | Typical time band | Main pain |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Causeway Link via Tuas, then CW7L | Light bags, no pram, weekday | Yes — twice, with every bag | 2–5+ hours | Halls, transfer, last-bus cut-offs |
| Morning coach from Singapore | Two or three adults, fixed slot | Yes — commercial vehicle | 2–4 hours if the coach is on time | One departure, you still carry bags |
| Self-drive + VEP | Car already Malaysia-ready | No, if you stay in the car | 45 minutes–3+ hours | VEP, parking, you drive home tired |
| Cross-border booked car | Families, stroller, odd hours | Stay-in-car in sedan / Innova / Alphard; Starex alights at Tuas | 45–90 minutes off-peak | Higher than a bus ticket; book the right vehicle |
Use Woodlands only if you are already in the north and the Causeway is the quieter hall that hour — then treat the Malaysia side as a second trip. Public options are real. They also ask a four-year-old to become a porter.
Tuas to Legoland: why the Second Link is the default
Iskandar Puteri from Singapore is the Second Crossing, not the Causeway.

Exit 312, the lobby drop, and when Woodlands is the wrong hall
After Malaysian clearance at CIQ Second Link, the park is a short run along the Nusajaya / Medini roads — Exit 312 if you are driving. The gate address is 7, Jalan Legoland / Persiaran Medini Utara 3, 79250 Iskandar Puteri. Drop at the resort lobby if you are early; the brick pit in the hotel lobby exists so children have something to do before 10 a.m. Do not ask a driver for “JB Sentral” and hope.
Tuas to Legoland on a weekday, leaving the west of the island at 07:00–07:30, often lands you at the plaza before the turnstiles. The same clock on a Friday before a long weekend is a different trip. The checkpoint, not the 25–30 km, is the variable. For when to cross, use the timing guide. This page is which hall.
Coming from Johor Bahru city — hotel in Larkin, dinner on Jalan Wong Ah Fook — the hop is the other way: JB to Legoland. Do not force a Queen Street bus to solve a Medini pin.
Singapore to Legoland travel time
Legoland Malaysia travel time is a band, not a promise.
45–90 minutes
Weekday via Tuas, booked car or a ready self-drive. The band the Singapore to Legoland page quotes.
Two to three hours
Saturday, school holiday, or a Singapore public holiday — and more if both halls stall.
Noon is a real arrival
Two buildings, the wait for CW7L, the stroll from Mall of Medini. A 08:00 start can become a noon entry.
The other direction fills
A 17:30 Sunday exit is a queue. Leave earlier, or stay for dinner in Puteri Harbour / Big Box and cross later.
Where you start in Singapore still counts
Leave Singapore early enough to be at the gate when it opens, not when you hoped to leave Tampines. From the east or from Changi, the island crossing is part of the clock. From Jurong or Tuas, you are already on the right side of Singapore.
Coming home, pick one: leave the park earlier, or stay for dinner and cross later. Do not invent a third.
How to go to Legoland from Singapore by bus or coach
This is the cheap singapore to legoland malaysia path. It is also the one families underestimate.
Causeway Link, CW7L, and why the coach still makes you walk
Causeway Link. Ride a Tuas-crossing service — typically CW3 / CW4 / CW4S from Jurong East, CW6 from Boon Lay, or CW7 from Tuas Link — to Singapore immigration, then to CIQ Second Link. You get off with every bag, twice. After the Malaysian hall, CW7L is the local connector toward Mall of Medini / Legoland and the Ramada Meridin area. Through-tickets and headways change. Check Causeway Link before you travel. Do not trust a 2023 screenshot.
Coach. Operators run morning coaches from central or west Singapore toward the park. One seat, one departure, still a commercial vehicle: you alight at both halls. Confirm the live pickup and return on the operator’s site the week you go. We will not print an 8:30 a.m. table that will be wrong by March.
Skip the bus when you have a pram, two hard-shell cases, elders, or a 10 a.m. hotel check-in you actually need. The fare is low. The grip strength is not.
For the general Woodlands / Causeway menu — Queen Street, KTM, walking the bridge — that is how to go to JB from Singapore. Those tools aim at JB city. They are a detour to Medini.
Driving yourself
Self-drive is simple only if the car is already Malaysia-ready: VEP, insurance the Malaysian side accepts, and a driver who still wants the wheel after a theme-park day.
After Tuas: Medini signs, parking, two-day logic
After Tuas, follow the Second Link expressway and the Medini signs. Parking is at the resort’s published zones — confirm the day’s rate on site, including whether an annual pass includes it. Zone numbering and Touch ’n Go details belong on the official park page.
Self-drive wins when you need the car inside Iskandar all weekend — Puteri Harbour at night, Big Box groceries, a second day at the water park. It loses when you only need the lobby and a 10 a.m. turnstile, then a limp back to Singapore.
Cross-border booked car — when the family is the constraint
This is what most people mean by a family trip singapore to legoland that still starts at a HDB lift lobby.
Stay-in-car, the from-price, and the Tuas Starex exception
SGMYTAXI C&J runs the crossing as a booked vehicle, not a street hail.
- Door to door. Home, hotel, or Changi, then the resort lobby or the park plaza — not Larkin unless you asked for Larkin.
- Fixed quote. Fuel and tolls sit inside the number. Published Singapore–Legoland pricing starts from about SGD 80 per vehicle. Treat that as a from-price. Confirm on the route page or WhatsApp.
- Stay-in-car. In a sedan, Innova, or Alphard you typically remain seated at both sides. Hyundai Starex is the exception at Tuas: passengers alight. If a toddler is asleep, say so when you book and take a vehicle that stays seated.
- Child seat: we no longer supply child seats. Bring your own at no charge. Tell us when you book, not at the kerb.
A booked car does not replace passports or MDAC. It only stops you doing those things with a stroller in the Tuas hall. Booking steps: How to Book. Status answers: FAQ.
Legoland Malaysia tickets from Singapore
Buy Legoland Malaysia tickets from Singapore before you join the Tuas queue. Gate touts are not a plan.
Theme Park only
The default first singapore to legoland day trip. A full day. Do not add water on the same ticket.
Water Park
Half a day if you actually swim. Bring a change. Stack it on day two, not day one.
SEA LIFE
An hour of air-con, not an afternoon. Only if the combo is already in the bag.
Annual Pass
Do the arithmetic. Two Theme Park days often beat two walk-up tickets. One day trip does not. MyKad is not a Singapore passport — read the official column.
Official types, under-3, and why we will not print a MYR table
Official names shift. The idea does not: Theme Park, Water Park, SEA LIFE, combos, Annual Pass. Children under 3 are typically free with ID or passport. Verify on the official tickets page before you travel.
Online sale is usually cheaper than the booth. The park has advertised tickets “from RM69” — that is a starting rail, not your cart. We will not invent a 2026 adult MYR table.
A triple-park ticket on a Saturday is how you pay for rides you walk past. Print-at-home or the QR in the official app. Screenshot it. Mobile data dies in the plaza.
Buy on legoland.com.my/tickets-passes, or a reseller you already trust. Do not buy from someone in the car park.
Theme park and water park: do not stack them on one first visit
Official hours are commonly 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., last entry 5:00 p.m. The Theme Park has often been closed on Wednesday; the Water Park on Tuesday. Peak weeks override that. Check opening hours the morning you leave.

How to split Theme Park, Water Park, and SEA LIFE
Theme Park. Budget a full day on a first visit. Outdoor rides first, while the sun is still useful and queues are shorter. Height limits are real — many attractions stop well below an adult; check the day’s signs, not a memory of Sentosa. Indoor / shaded lands after lunch. MINILAND is the photograph, not the clock-eater.
Water Park. Half a day if you change, lock bags, and actually get in the water. A Theme + Water combo on a first day trip means you will rush one of them. Save water for a hotel morning or a second date.
SEA LIFE. Add it if you already hold a combo and the children need air-con. Do not build a day around it.
Shows and character times change. The park publishes the day’s list. We will not reprint a 9:50 a.m. meet-and-greet table.
If you stay overnight, Theme Park day one, Water Park morning two, SEA LIFE only if someone still has legs. Nearby beds (Legoland Hotel, Somerset Medini, Sunway Big Box, Puteri Harbour) are a hotel problem, not this page.
What to bring to Legoland Malaysia
What to bring to Legoland Malaysia is half park kit, half border kit.

Bring these
- Sunscreen, hats, a light rain shell
- Swimwear, a dry change, waterproof phone pouch — if Water Park is on the ticket
- Refillable bottles if the day’s rules allow them
- Small first-aid pouch; prescriptions in original packaging
- The child’s own ID if they are under 3
Keep in the pouch
- Every passport, infants included
- MDAC / MyICA / SGAC only for people who need them
- Power bank; ticket screenshot; hotel address if declared
- Extra clothes in the car for the ride home
- Leave replica weapons and extra cartons in Singapore
Confirm outside-food rules on the official FAQ. Do not assume a picnic hamper will pass the bag check. Papers: border crossing checklist.
A sample Singapore to Legoland day trip
A weekday shape, not a holiday promise.
Night before through the Tuas return
- Night before. Tickets bought. Passports in the pouch. Swim kit only if Water Park is actually on the ticket. Recheck opening hours and the checkpoint window.
- 06:45–07:30 leave Singapore. Earlier from the east. Tuas, not Woodlands, unless you have a reason.
- Lobby before 10:00 if you are early. Hotel brick pit, toilet, water. Do not stand in the sun at a closed turnstile for forty minutes with no plan.
- 10:00–13:00 Theme Park outdoors. Tallest rides the children can do, first.
- Lunch. In-park or, if you exit (day tickets are often single entry — verify), a nearby mall. Annual passes are the ones that bounce.
- Afternoon indoor / shade. Leave by 16:00–16:30 if you need a saner Tuas return. Stay to close only if you accept the Sunday queue.
- Do not add Water Park on this first day unless the children are under the age where rides matter and you only came to splash.
Overnight? Flip it: arrive afternoon, Water Park next morning, Theme Park the full middle day.
Which way fits you in 2026
There is no single winner. There is a best match.
Pram, elders, or a child who sleeps in the car
Book a Stay-in-car sedan, Innova, or Alphard. The Tuas hall is the worst part of this trip for that group, not the fare.
Light bags on a Tuesday
Causeway Link + CW7L. Recheck the last bus the night before.
The car is already VEP-ready
Drive. Park. Do not also plan to “just pop to JB city” in the same peak window.
Starting from a JB hotel
Use Johor Bahru to Legoland, not a Singapore bus.
Rules on passports and arrival cards change. Check ICA and Immigresen before you travel. Park hours and tickets belong on legoland.com.my.
FAQ
What is the best way to go to Legoland from Singapore?
For a family with bags or a stroller: a booked cross-border car via Tuas, Stay-in-car in a sedan / Innova / Alphard. For two adults with daypacks on a weekday: Causeway Link to CIQ Second Link, then CW7L. There is no useful flight.
How long is Singapore to Legoland Malaysia?
Off-peak via Tuas, a car is often 45–90 minutes door to door. Weekends and school holidays run two to three hours. Buses add hall time. The kilometres are short. The checkpoint is not.
Can I do Legoland as a day trip from Singapore?
Yes. Buy Theme Park only, leave Singapore early, walk in at 10:00, leave mid-afternoon if the return hall matters. Stacking Theme + Water + SEA LIFE on a first singapore to legoland day trip is how you buy a ticket you do not use.
Do I have to get out of the car at Tuas?
On the bus or coach: yes, both sides, with luggage. In a private sedan, Innova, or Alphard with a cross-border operator: Stay-in-car is the usual pattern. Starex passengers should plan to alight at Tuas. Follow the officer in front of you.
Where do I buy tickets?
Official tickets and passes, or a known reseller if you already trust it. Children under 3 are typically free. Annual pass if you will return. Do not buy from someone in the car park.
If the plan above points to a door-to-door car, get a fixed quote — fuel and tolls included — on WhatsApp or Singapore to Legoland. Starting in Johor Bahru, use JB to Legoland Malaysia.
